JUCO forward Leon Gilmore commits to Colorado State basketball

Junior college power forward Leon Gilmore felt the love from Colorado State, and late Monday night he returned the favor by committing to sign with Rams, initially making the announcement from his Twitter account @LeeLee_.

Gilmore can make his commitment official and sign a national letter of intent with CSU when the regular signing period begins April 13.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pounder averaged 11.1 points and 7.2 rebounds this season as a sophomore at Trinity Valley Community College, helping the Cardinals reach the NJCAA national quarterfinals earlier this month.

A three-star recruit out of Manvel High School (just south of Houston) in 2014, Gilmore chose Creighton over several other offers, including Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, UNLV, Texas A&M and Baylor.
