Colorado State defensive coordinator Tyson Summers has reached a verbal agreement to be the new coach at Georgia Southern a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Summers, who just completed his first season as Colorado State's defensive coordinator, will succeed Willie Fritz, who was named Tulane's coach on Dec. 15.
The 55-year-old Fritz led the Eagles to a berth in this season's GoDaddy Bowl against Bowling Green and was 17-7 in two seasons with Georgia Southern, his first FBS coaching job.
