Ty Sambrailo’s rookie season was over quickly after it started, it turns out.
Sambrailo, the Denver Broncos’ second-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft this past May, has been put on season-ending injured reserve, Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak announced Monday.
The former CSU standout, who was ranked among the top offensive tackles going into May’s draft, started the first three games of the season before being injured in the Broncos’ win over Detroit. Kubiak said Sambrailo had been held out of contact drills and games, with the team’s medical staff hoping that would be enough to help his shoulder heal properly.
