FORT COLLINS — Larry Eustachy has long considered a regular season title the "crown jewel" for any team he coaches.
It makes sense considering it rewards a team's performance throughout the course of a few months and not just a few days in early March.
Problem is, the crown jewel in the Mountain West isn't worth a whole lot this season — a trip to the NIT at best.
The real prize is of course the conference tournament since the MW is almost certainly a one-bid league again this year.
