Following her 22-point, seven rebound performance against Colorado on Wednesday, CSU junior forward Elin Gustavsson was named the Mountain West women’s basketball player of the week on Monday.
Gustavsson shot 8-for-13 from the floor against the Buffs and went 2-for-2 from 3-point range to help lead the Rams to a thrilling last-second 64-63 victory.
The win was CSU’s first over CU since 2009, and fourth-year head coach Ryun Williams’ first success against the in-state rival.
Wednesday marked Gustavsson’s third straight game scoring 20-plus points against CU. Last season, she went for a career-high 28 points in Boulder in a double-overtime loss to the Buffs.
