FORT COLLINS — The Colorado State women's basketball team set the bar pretty high last season as a defensive stalwart.
But early returns indicate the Rams are even better at that end of the floor this year.
After ranking in the top 30 in the nation a season ago in scoring defense and opponent field goal percentage, CSU has been smothering to start 2015-16, and that trend continued Saturday in the Rams' 61-55 win over visiting BYU.
It's a good thing the Rams' defense was so stout, because their offense had its issues, especially in the second half when the Cougars went to a zone.
