FORT COLLINS — This was supposed to be a revenge game for Colorado State.
Instead it turned out to be a statement by Boise State.
After beating CSU in the conference tournament semifinals last March, the Mountain West preseason favorite Broncos came into Moby Arena and handed the Rams a 62-58 loss to open league play on Thursday night.
BSU (7-5) overcame a 12-point deficit and a career-scoring night by CSU guard Grace Colaivalu to stun the Rams, who had their fate sealed when Hannah Tvrdy's potential game-tying 3-pointer missed with 7 seconds left.
"It's just frustrating because we shouldn't have lost that game," Tvrdy said after a rare MW home loss by her team.
