FORT COLLINS — Hosting the WNIT hasn't exactly been a great experience for the Colorado State over the years.
The Rams were 1-3 at home in the tournament in the past five seasons with consecutive first-round exits in 2014 and 2015, and a second-round loss last season.
The trend looked like it was going to continue for the better part of Thursday night's opener against Western Illinois as its uptempo style seemed too much for the Rams to handle.
But with their season on the line, the Rams put together one of their best quarters of the year to erase a 10-point second-half deficit in a 67-64 victory at Moby Arena.
