The season opener for Colorado State women's basketball wasn't all pretty Tuesday night. But in basketball, it doesn't have to be. CSU overcame a sluggish second quarter to handily defeat visiting Eastern New Mexico 72-46.
The victory only means so much to coach Ryun Williams, who was not shy with expectations of improvement following the game. Because of the number of newcomers across the roster, the head coach realizes that some of those improvements will take time. But there are other fixes he expects to see quicker.
"The thing that I don't think should take time is your effort and how hard you play," Williams said.
