ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Behind Breana Runnels' 15 kills, Colorado State volleyball opened the Michigan Challenge on Friday with a convincing sweep of LSU, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 at Cliff Keen Arena.
Runnels, the Rams' sophomore outside hitter, posted her numbers on 30 swings, hitting .376 in the match. She now has double-digit kills in six of the seven matches this season. Middle Kirstie Hillyer finished with 10 kills (giving her 10 or more in four consecutive matches) and led the team with eight blocks.
As a team, CSU hit .265 in the match as setter Katie Oleksak had 30 assists.
