Tom Hilbert was far from thrilled with what was playing out before him as his Colorado State volleyball team spent most of the entire opening set trailing San Jose State, a program frequently found near the bottom of the Mountain West conference.
His Rams were sloppy and lethargic and rested on the edge of dropping the set. So like any good coach, Hilbert needed to shake his team awake and turned to his bench. Freshman middle Paulina Hougaard-Jensen was his remedy.
"I thought brining Paulina in was a real important part of the match," he said.
