FORT COLLINS — Jamal Hicks realizes how fast life plans can change.
Heading into his senior year at Narbonne High School in Gardena, California, the calls that affect him most to this day were fighting to reach his phone first.
"I found out I was having a baby the same time I got this offer, like simultaneously," Colorado State's junior safety said. "Like literally a minute apart. After that, I had my mindset, this will mean something. That's one of the reasons I committed here."
For Hicks, his hometown is a place he'd like to put in his rearview mirror as soon as he can, but the addition of Kammy to his life has him returning as much as possible.
