FORT COLLINS — Larry Eustachy has been around the game of basketball a long time, closing in on 500 career victories (497) now in his 26th year as a head coach.
So when he said before the season that Gian Clavell is one of the top three guards he's ever coached and has the potential of a first-round NBA draft pick, you get a pretty good idea of just how talented the sharp-shooting senior is.
But for a majority of the non-conference season, Eustachy's team was forced to learn how to play without Clavell, who was suspended two days before the opener for getting arrested on charges of false imprisonment.
