FORT COLLINS — What Nick Stevens won't come close to saying, Michael Gallup will blurt out without hesitation.
Second-half Stevens was the best quarterback in the Mountain West last season.
"I know he was. He was the most proficient," said Gallup, a first-team all-conference selection at receiver. "All his numbers were gaudy compared to everybody else. He worked for that. It's all good for him because he worked for it."
Stevens was really good as he started the final seven games. He threw for 1,859 yards with 19 touchdowns against just three interceptions.
