FORT COLLINS — Under closer review, the Colorado State defense can only lead to a bit of confusion.
The Rams ran a 4-3 defense that technically had eight starters graduate. The 3-4 it will run this season comes back with one player — linebacker Kevin Davis — who started every game a year ago, but also returns cornerback Tyree Simmons and linebacker Kiel Robinson with eight starts each. Call them returning starters, too. It was learned Saturday fellow linebacker Deonte Clyburn will not be in the lineup with the season starts, out with a blood clot condition, head coach Mike Bobo said.
