FORT COLLINS — Live and learn.
After being pushed around the field the first week against Colorado, the brain trust at Colorado State knew its defense had to find a way to push back.
The Rams did, and in the second half of Saturday's 23-14 win, the defense completely shut down the UTSA offense to secure the victory.
Seven drives, no points and it produced a turnover to boot. Add in six sacks and five other quarterback hurries, and the result is a defense that sets the tone instead of being forced to react.
