They didn't need a reminder 2018 was an unacceptable season; Colorado State's defensive linemen already knew as much.
Already a young unit, they were tarnished by injury, and even when players appeared healthy, it didn't amount to much on the field. The pass rush never found its footing as the team finished with 15 sacks, ranking 118th in the nation. The run defense wasn't any better, allowing nearly 220 yards on the ground per game, the worst mark in the Mountain West.
But something happens when a group struggles so mightily — it learns.
