CSU football players have many ways of staying fresh in training camp

FORT COLLINS — First things first: Training camps aren't like they used to be.

Two-a-days are a thing of the past. Full-padded practices are becoming more rare and you can pretty much forget about hazing.

No longer do players arrive on campus in late July or early August and gradually work themselves into shape through a series of grueling end-of-workout wind sprints. It's expected (required, really) that you come ready to play on Day 1.

Still, when you practice 20 times in 23 days — like Colorado State is right now — monotony is unavoidable.
