RENO, Nevada — Nobody questioned the effort, though the scoreboard did plenty of talking.
Colorado State lost 49-10 to Nevada on Saturday night at Mackay Stadium, and even though they were only down 7-0 after one quarter of play, it was clear it was not going to be the Rams' night.
They had done nothing on offense to suggest a threat was immanent, not with penalties coming early and often, and the defense was giving up chunk plays in the early going, just not a lot of points.
Those came in a flurry, however, as the Wolf Pack became bowl eligible with their sixth victory of the year, scoring touchdowns on five possessions in a row bridging the first and second halves.
