A bad shooting night finally caught up to the Colorado State men’s basketball team Saturday night.
Coming into Saturday night’s game against the University of Texas-El Paso, the Rams had shot 48 percent from the field in their five wins, including 40 percent from the 3-point line.
Things didn’t go quite like that against the Miners, though.
CSU blew a 17-point halftime lead, and wasted a career-high 35 points and 10 rebounds by senior guard Gian Clavell, losing 99-90 in double overtime in the championship game of the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic.
Lee Moore led the Miners with 28 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while tournament MVP Earvin Morris added 28 more on 10 of 17 shooting.
