FORT COLLINS — Colorado State basketball appears to be in serious danger of losing one of its best players to transfer.
Nico Carvacho, coming off a redshirt sophomore season in which he led the Mountain West in rebounding during league play (12.3 rpg), has asked CSU for permission to contact other schools, according to multiple sources. CSU has not yet signed off on Carvacho's request.
Student-athletes who want to transfer must have written permission from their current athletic director before discussing a possible transfer with a new school. Without written permission, another program cannot contact a student-athlete and encourage them to transfer.
