CSU basketball returns from rare break to finish non-conference play

In a season that can last six months, four days of rest might feel like four weeks. For Colorado State men's basketball — which began practices in early October and will play through the Mountain West tournament in the middle of March — the extended break was both a rarity and a luxury.

College basketball teams seldom have much time off for Thanksgiving, and their spring breaks are usually spent playing in conference tournaments, leaving a small portion during winter break as the only real down time in the season.
