LAS VEGAS — For Colorado State, Wednesday morning's basketball game against Boise State is more than an 8 versus 9 matchup. It offers the Rams a chance to prove their growth.
In many ways, the growth is already evident. If you compare the current Rams to the team which lost 10 of 12 games at the end of non-conference schedule and into Mountain West play, the product on the court is undeniably different.
But it still hasn't resulted in the thing that really matters — wins. Caught in a frustrating cycle of close but not close enough, coach Niko Medved and his team understand what the first-round matchup against the Broncos can do for a program looking to take a step forward.
