In a results-oriented field, things get messy when the product you seek becomes evasive. The sought after goal on a basketball court is a win, and rightfully so.
It becomes the benchmark of a team's success because results — not the journey — are all that matters. But the path to get those victories is never straight, not even for college basketball's elite, let alone a Colorado State squad sitting ninth of 11 Mountain West teams.
So when a team does the right things but doesn't get rewarded, it can damage confidence.
