CSU basketball falls to Nevada in MW championship game

LAS VEGAS — The Mountain West has been touted as a parity-filled conference this season. But truth be told, Nevada is the most-talented team in the league.

Colorado State again showed it can hang with the Wolf Pack for long stretches of a game. But for the second time in eight days — with a title on the line both times —Nevada proved to be the better team over the course of 40 minutes in beating CSU 79-71 in the MW tournament championship game Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Nevada (28-6) avoided sweating the Selection Sunday bubble by earning the conference's automatic NCAA Tournament bid while Colorado State (23-11) is likely headed to the NIT for the second time in three years.
