BOULDER — At 5-foot-8, Kennedy Leonard doesn't exactly stand out in a sport where height is usually king.
In fact, she's typically the shortest player on the court. But there's nothing small about the way she plays, and Thursday night the Colorado State women's basketball team had no answer for Colorado's dynamic sophomore guard.
Leonard went off for a career-best 31 points to lead the 18th-ranked Buffaloes to a 74-56 win over their in-state rivals in front of 1,723 at the Coors Events Center.
CSU (5-4) also had a pair of career-best scoring nights as Callie Kaiser went for 17 points and Myanne Hamm seven.
