FORT COLLINS — Twenty-four hours.
That's what Trent Matthews gave himself to be sad, to cry, to lament the fact his career at Colorado State would end one game short, the result of an ACL tear in the Rams' 34-31 victory over Fresno State to end the regular season.
"I've got a 24-hour rule," Matthews said Friday after the Rams practiced for the first time since the win. "I get sad, and the next 24 hours is a brand-new me. I'm a positive guy."
Matthews, who said he was prepared for the worst even though he didn't think it was that bad when it happened, found out Monday when comparative results of a CT scan and an MRI showed the truth.
