Colorado State's Trent Matthews honored for his Good Work

FORT COLLINS — His teammates can always tell when he's not around.

There's a particular vibe Trent Matthews brings to the table for the Colorado State football team, and it can change depending on the setting. But there's one dead giveaway to his absence.

"It's probably not as loud," linebacker Kevin Davis said.

Matthews, now in his senior year after arriving five seasons ago from Converse, Texas, has gone from — in his description — a big brother needing guidance to an elder statesman ready to dispense encouragement and goodwill to others.

Not just in his locker room, but off campus.
