FORT COLLINS — Fast forward a bit to Sept. 2.
This time around, Colorado defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt will have a year's worth of game film to work with, and he'll take note of what Colorado State has back, and maybe more importantly, who is gone.
Leavitt will know CSU has a second-team all-conference pick in Nick Stevens who can start at quarterback after throwing for 2,679 yards and 21 touchdowns. He'll also know Stevens threw 12 picks and that his top two targets — Rashard Higgins and Joe Hansley — are gone.
