FORT COLLINS — Tom Hilbert thinks back to when he watched Kirstie Hillyer as a sophomore at Bayfield High School. She was about 6-foot-4 then, almost all arms and legs and still learning how to use them.
At the time, he figured he had a pretty good developing player on his hands.
Now, after watching her as a redshirt freshman this spring, he's positive.
Hillyer can remember back to those days, and she laughs. Now 6-7, she's developed a comfort level with the length of her limbs and how to use them — "I had no idea what I was doing with my arms and legs in high school" — to her advantage.
