Colorado State women's basketball tunes up with ease

FORT COLLINS — Colorado State's women's basketball team prepped for the upcoming season Friday, blowing out South Carolina-Aiken 77-43 in an exhibition game at Moby Arena.

Swedish freshman forward Amanda Kantzy led a balanced Rams' scoring attack with 12 points, hitting all five of her attempts from the field, including a 3-pointer. She was the only player in double figures for CSU, but Ellen Nystrom finished with nine, freshman Callie Kaiser of Broomfield had eight and Keyora Wharry, Emilie Hesseldal, Jaime Patrick and Ellen Gustavsson each scored seven.

The Rams led 40-8 at halftime, with coach Ryun Williams playing 14 players in the first half alone.
