Colorado State women's basketball picked to repeat as Mountain West champions

FORT COLLINS — If the past is any indication of the future, then the Colorado State women's basketball team could make history this season as the only team to win three straight regular season Mountain West championships.

The Rams were again chosen as the league favorites with the release of the conference's preseason poll Wednesday, receiving 12 of 25 first-place votes. This is the third time CSU has been picked first in the preseason, and that prognostication proved correct each of the previous two, in 2001-02 and last season when the Rams won their second straight title under coach Ryun Williams.
