LAS VEGAS — Survive and advance.
That's the motto for college basketball teams around the country this time of year, and it's exactly what the Colorado State women did Tuesday.
The top-seeded Rams never trailed and led by as much as 13 in the second half. But No. 8 seed San Jose State rallied and trimmed the deficit all the way to one in the fourth quarter before CSU held on for the 65-60 victory in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center.
