FORT COLLINS — The set up seemed perfectly timed.
Colorado State's volleyball team needed to stop the four-match slide they were on — the first of coach Tom Hilbert's 20-year career with the Rams — and New Orleans was set up to be the right foil.
The Rams produced a 25-15-, 25-14, 25-14 victory Friday night at Moby Arena which was important. More to Hilbert's liking was the way his team went about it after competing hard and losing to Texas a week prior.
They competed again and didn't leave anything to chance.
"I thought we did, and that was one of our big goals," Hilbert said.
