FORT COLLINS — A match both teams had to have to keep fate in their own hands came down to a final set to 15 points.
Three off Thursday's sets between Colorado State and UNLV at Moby Arena were handled with cushion to spare, but in the two that were tight, the Rams showed their mettle by making the key plays down the stretch, leading to a 20-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 15-11 victory to move to 10-2 in the Mountain West, 16-7 overall.
Key is the seven-time defending conference champions have a leg up on the Rebels, who not only fell to 10-3 in conference play, but two of those losses are at the hands of the Rams.
