FORT COLLINS — Colorado State's future looks bright on the volleyball court judging from Tuesday's announcements of the AVCA all-region volleyball teams, with a pair of freshmen earning recognition on the Pacific North squad.
Setter Katie Oleksak, a true freshman, was named to the first team, while redshirt freshman middle blocker Kirstie Hillyer earned honorable mention recognition. The Rams, who have had at least one all-region selection since 2007, reached the NCAA Tournament for a 22nd straight year in going 21-9 this season.
Oleksak, the Mountain West freshman of the year, becomes the first freshman to be named all-region since Megan Plourde earned the honor in 2009.
