SEATTLE — The start of Friday night couldn't have been scripted much better.
Colorado State's volleyball team hung tough in the first set of their NCAA Tournament match with No. 24 Kentucky, playing well on defense and getting some clutch hitting. Tied at 24 late, it was the Rams who upstaged their ranked opponent off a kill from Alexandra Poletto, who then teamed with Sanja Cizmic for a block at match point for a 26-24 win in the first set.
The rest of the night didn't go as well, as the Wildcats (23-7) rallied to take the final three sets, 25-22, 25-10, 25-17 for the 3-1 victory, ending the Rams' (21-9)season at the Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
