FORT COLLINS — Saturday's game will mark the final day of Hughes Stadium, but the namesake of the football stadium will make the move to campus along with the new facility.
In a ceremony Friday, South Drive was changed to Hughes Way, a road on the southwest side of the campus. Hughes coached the football team for 31 seasons, winning more games (126) than any other leader of the program.
"In many ways, Harry Hughes created the foundation of Colorado State athletics that we enjoy today; serving for 42 years as both a head coach and athletics director," said Joe Parker, CSU's director of athletics, in a release.
