FORT COLLINS — Ricky Logo had never seen Toby McBride wrestle. It really wasn't necessary, because he could just tell.
Colorado State's defensive line coach knew he was working with a wrestler when McBride came up for camps and the two spent some time one-on-one. It was in the way McBride moved — his hands, feet and hips — and the way he used leverage to his advantage.
Watching McBride on tape win his third 4A state championship at heavyweight this past weekend, Logo sat in his office and pointed out the athletic movements the Fort Morgan product was doing to beat Pueblo East's defending state champion Jacob Robles 6-3 and translate them on to the field.
