FORT COLLINS — Colorado State's football team will continue to play on Sonny Lubick Field beyond the 2016 season, thanks to a $20 million donation, athletic director Joe Parker announced Friday to a group of Rams Club members in Bob Davis Hall.
Parker said the gift — made anonymously and one of the largest made to the university in general — carried the stipulation the playing field at the new on-campus stadium carried over the name of the legendary former coach who guided the program for 15 seasons.
Parker said the athletic department wanted to make sure Lubick was honored at the new stadium, and the donation presents the perfect vehicle.
