FORT COLLINS — When Northern Colorado switched quarterbacks last week, it was because the Bears had to change. Starter Jacob Knipp was hurt on the third play, forcing Kyle Sloter into action. All he did was throw for 408 yards and six touchdowns and get named the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week.
At Colorado State, head coach Mike Bobo has had to go to a backup this year, too. In both games. Not because of injury, but because of ineffectiveness. And when the change is made, well, there's more ineffectiveness.
