FORT COLLINS — Humbling, without question.
After starting all 13 games a season ago and having to win his job back from two new challengers, Nick Stevens was far from his best the first week of the season.
Colorado State's offense didn't click at all, and while it was not a burden that rested all on the junior's shoulders, Stevens had his mistakes to own, namely three turnovers, two on interceptions that gave him 14 in as many career starts.
Then his job as the Rams' starting quarterback was gone.
