FORT COLLINS — Friday was more of a ceremonial target date at Colorado State than functional.
It marked the substantial completion point of construction for the new on-campus stadium, with the university's construction partners handing over ownership, at least for the west side. It didn't mean the parking lots around the structure were filled with moving fans, as athletic director Joe Parker noted there are more steps to be taken before it becomes fully functional.
Right on time and right on budget.
"There's been a good rhythm for the past 21 months since we broke ground," Parker said, walking from the stadium back to his office at the McGraw Center.
