FORT COLLINS — Three years ago the Colorado State men's basketball team welcomed Regis to Moby Arena for an exhibition game ahead of the 2013-14 season.
What was supposed to be an easy tuneup turned into a shocking nail-biter, a one-point CSU win thanks to a game-winner in the final seconds by J.J. Avila. The Rams went on to have their worst season under coach Larry Eustachy that year, finishing 16-16 overall and eighth in the Mountain West at 7-11.
Tuesday night CSU faced Regis for the first time since, in another exhibition, and the results were a little too familiar.
