LOGAN, Utah — Not always pretty, and definitely not the smartest execution down the stretch, but Saturday night was beautiful in all that mattered for Colorado State, a road win at Utah State, 64-56.
The Rams (12-8 overall, 4-3 in Mountain West play) were hot early, building a double-digit lead in short order. They went to the locker room at half with a 12-point cushion, one they pushed to as much as 16 in the early going of the second half.
Although CSU never trailed and was tied for only 46 seconds, they left little glimmers of hope for the Aggies (8-10, 2-5) as the game wore on, rushing some offensive sets in the final 5 minutes when patience was called for, allowing Utah State to close to within six points.
