Like a broken record, Larry Eustachy has preached defense and rebounding to his team — to everyone else, really — ever since he took over for Tim Miles five years ago.
The priority placed on the glass has paid off. Colorado State has ranked in the top 100 nationally in rebound margin each season under Eustachy, in the top 35 the previous four and No. 1 in 2012-13.
Defense, however, has been a different story.
The Rams have been average or below average on that end more often than not the past five years, and they were particularly bad a year ago.
