FORT COLLINS — Colorado State sophomore fullback Adam Prentice has been named one of 63 nominees for the Burlsworth Trophy, the school announced Friday.
The award is given to the outstanding collegiate football player who started his career as a walk-on and completed his first FBS season without any financial aid from the university's athletic department.
Prentice, from Clovis High School in Fresno, Calif., has appeared in all nine games for the Rams this season, making three starts. He has three catches for 33 yards, scoring his first career touchdown on a 1-yard reception against Air Force.
