Colorado State football rounds out 2019 slate with FCS foe

FORT COLLINS — Colorado State completed the 2019 non-conference football schedule on Monday with the announcement the Rams will host Western Illinois on Sept. 7.

CSU will open against Colorado in Denver (the final Denver game of the current Rocky Mountain Showdown schedule), play the Leathernecks at home before heading to Arkansas. The final non-conference game that season is home with Toledo.

Western Illinois is an FCS program out of the Missouri Valley Football Conference which has had two straight winning seasons and reached the second round of the playoffs in 2015.

In 2017 and 2018, the Rams face three Power 5 schools in non-conference play and will do so again in 2020.
