FORT COLLINS — Colorado State had waited all year to play a complete game.
That's nothing in comparison to how long the Rams' defense had waited to erase the date Oct. 4, 1997 from the game notes.
That marked the last time in program history the defense had recorded a shutout, 63-0 against Hawaii — a run of 225 games. In fact, CSU had been the only member in Mountain West history not to post a shutout since the league was formed in 1999.
Until Saturday.
They stalled Fresno State at every turn as the Rams' offense rolled, leading to a 37-0 win in front of 23,187 at Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
