Colorado State football ranks dead-last in the country with just 2 sacks

FORT COLLINS — Dead last.

That's where Colorado State's defense ranks when it comes to bringing down the opposing quarterback. In five games this season, the Rams have just two sacks. At the other end of the spectrum sits Oklahoma State with 24 in as many contests.

There are 10 players in the Mountain West who have at least three. The Rams' co-leaders each have one — sophomore defensive end Emmanuel Jones and true freshman cornerback Rashad Ajayi. They're not getting opposing offenses behind the chains in that manner, nor when it comes to stops behind the line of scrimmage.
